Digital Lenses - the definitve answer

Capitalist societies worldwide have been dumbing down thier mass (public) education system for decades. It's not accidiental: its to train more gullible consumers!


Anyway, I said defintive, so here it is.

For the real difference between "digital" and conventional lenses you need to go right back to basic physics ( at least it was basic in my young day).

The answer lies in the Wave-Particle Duality of light.

Traditional cameras rely on film interacting with light  waves, which explains thier incredibly poor resolution.

Digital sensors however actually count the individual light particles (photons).  They don't suffer from those wooly losses of resolution resulting from having to share light waves between silver grains.  A photon hits one sensor or another, never two. 

The particles get counted - not smeared ...
