No not at all. As far as I know there are no recalls for any defective 10Ds nor are there any reports of any large number of defective 10Ds.
What I am saying is that the 10D has been around for a while, the 1D now has a MK-II version, and Photokina is next month.
Since I'm not ready to go digital yet so I can wait to see what will be announced at Photokina I don't want to buy something today that may have an update or replacement announced in a month or two. A lot of new products are announced at Photokina.
