David, 500 pixels and the 50K compressed jpeg format are simply guidelines. Many contributed photographs are bigger than 500 pixels and sizes have gone up to 75K before "the staff" decides to reformat. So even if you send at significantly larger size (several members do this on a regualr basis - some image files have been 5MB in size!) they will be resized here during the process of exhibit preparation. Of course, if you object to that (as some do) then you are "stuck" and need to prepare images following loose guidelines provided. :) Andy
