It cannot be seen.  You can't hang a digital original!

The original is the file your digital camera captured.  Never throw 
it out.  It has, embedded in it, the EXIF data which shows the date 
and time that it was captured.  Once you process that file in an 
image editing program and resave that data is lost

That's why you keep your original digital capture.
