Dan,
Try the Editorial Photographers group (EP). Their home page is > www.editorialphoto.com <

They are similar to the ASMP except they have an active email group where they discuss questions like yours. Join their discussion group and ask your pricing question.

Another option would be to go into a large card store and look at photo greeting cards. Write down the names of the photographers who got a credit line on the back of their photo cards, look them up on the internet and ask them your pricing question.

These book references are all great to have, but I have already received a

Please don't take this the wrong way, but every question about photography
can be answered by looking it up in some book. And there would be no need
for Internet mailing lists such as Photoforum. But I am hoping that there
may be a subscriber here who has actually sold some photos to greeting card
publishers and can provide me with some help. Or perhaps owns or has read
one of these books, and can help out.

thanks again,

Thanks for the tip, but the main photoforum archives appear next to
impossible to search for something easily. Photoforum's home page
mentiones a third party who was archiving the forum, but there was no
mention of greeting card pricing.

All I want are some ballpark guidelines.

A book by Ron Engh tells everything you'd want to know.

He wrote two, actually.

The information is in our archive, I believe.

I have been asked to provide a quote for a greeting card publisher
who wishes purchase the rights to use some of my photos for
greeting cards.

Any tips on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!
