The Sigma 12-24 f/4.5-5.6 EX DG AF was reviewed in the April 2004 Popular Photography and rated very highly. Notable for my purposes was the virtual absence of distortion. I have both the above Sigma 12-24 and the Sigma 17-35 F/2.8-4 EX DG AF. I am extremely satisfied with both. In particular, I can attest to their lack of distortion, quite satisfactory for architectural photography. No experience with the Nikon lens. I believe - not sure - that Popular Photography has reviewed it. ...
