Hi Jodi,
Your assignment for the executive shot
sounds challenging. I'm sure you are going to do great with it,
though. Off the top of my head (where ideas pause for a
nano-second before disappearing into thin air) my thought would be an
executive in dress shirt and tie (sleeves rolled up, tie loosened) and office
setting, with a few soccer items scattered on his desk or leaning against his
desk to give the feeling that his mind is at work, but his heart is with
soccer.
Or maybe just the opposite. He could be
standing in a soccer field in dress shirt and tie (again, tie undone, sleeves
rolled up and suit jacket slung over shoulder) watching a game from the side
lines, or better yet, in the midst of things cheering the soccer players
on.
Please share your photos with Photoforum.
I'm very curious about your ideas and would like very much to see the
results. Good luck with your assignments.
Marilyn,

Thanks for the photo essay suggestions. As for your question about
my friend, he's neither. The definition of an executive that we were
given for this assignment is anyone who has the power to make decisions
on other people's behalf. Part of the assignment is to
challenge the idea of an executive as a man in a business suit working in an
office and to use other elements of the photo, pose, environement, etc. to
convey the idea of executive control/power. My friend is a student who
plays on and voluntarily coaches a student housing soccer team. As
I said, I have a number of ideas and poses in mind but was trying to come up
with something a bit different.
thanks again,
