Explanations exist; they have existed for all times, for there is always an easy solution to every human problem - neat, plausible, and wrong. H.L. Mencken Explanations exist; they have existed for all time; there is always a well-known solution to every human problem - neat, plausible, and wrong. -- H. L. Mencken, from The Divine Afflatus "For every human problem, there is a neat, simple solution; and it is always wrong." --H.L. Mencken "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." ~ H.L. Mencken Per Never heard of Mencken ... but apparently he has at least four similar quotes. I'm guessing the first is the most accurate - or did he use similar saying refining them (and simplifying them) with each iteration? More likely others have latched on to the eternal truth of that part. Science is full of simple explanations - they are all wrong. Above these are more comples explanations that are also wrong. With words we can only ever approximate the complexity of nature, never hold it ;o) > "For every difficult problem, > there is a simple explanation - which is wrong",? Yup, similar in sentiment ... different in words. Bob
