Interesting SOURCE of the question. The delineation for professional here is as an adjective; but as a noun is most obviously how you approach the aspect of remuneration. The various responses related to quality and consistancy look at the delineation as an adjective and how they work for or with clients. As far as reitring, the terms is 'was a working professional.' Per IRS, we file a form SE wich is for Self Employment and not unless making more than $30,000 over the reporting year. The IRS encourages the working professional to pay quarterly and asks for Social Security or we CAN retire. Once you make over $30,000 a year and pay into the Social Security trust for 30 quarters, over the age of 65 you can apply for the Social Security allotment due you as a professional. Of course, you are permitted to draw upon your Social Security AND continue working.
