Interesting thread, to say the least.
I've had the experience of customers taking my proofs, scanning them and
doing their own "home prints" and refusing to pay for the packages...so
I put a logo on the proofs...one enterprising rip-off artist then
proceeded to scan, "fix" the images with photoshop or a clone of and
THEN print his own. Interesting to note none of these people were even
close to professionals, just avid home enthusiasts. The face of
photography has indeed changed. Will be go the way of the buffalo? I
think not, at least not immediately, It does make one nostalgic and a
bit bitter that people can now attain SOME things almost immediately it
took me countless years to achieve.
Crap. It wont be long that the 'net will be running a joke list that
says "you can tell your age if you can remember actually spending money
for senior portraits and wedding albums"
Think I'll go fire up the DVD, microwave some popcorn and watch
Gilligan's Island reruns.
