Those artifacts are called noise, sort of like film grain. And that of
course is the purpose of Neatimage. I'd like to try a ressed up
version and smooth that. Maybe double the size.

Now I'd have liked to have shot this at ISO 100, but it wasn't going
to happen. Especially on a windy day. Not only was the wind blowing my
lens, but the bird's feathers were blowing.

It's really a trade off, but with experience and experimenting,
software like Neatimage can really help out all images, even film
ones. Especially film ones. Again, it would depend on print size, and
viewing distance, how much smoothing one needed. And of course the
look the artist wants...
