Don & Sidney,

There is no need to throw out that SCSI scanner. Even that local school
might have newer Macs, without SCSI. But, Belkin (and maybe others) makes a
SCSI to USB adapter. This story,

will provide more information about it. It's something I have been
considering because I also have a SCSI scanner that I want to use with my
USB-based TiBook.
Microtech makes a SCSI to Firewire adapter, which would be faster than USB.
