Thank you Per for the reviewing ! BTW - Only you this week ?
Yes, a bit surprised... There has been a couple of very long threads that might have kept people busy...
Per - I'm not from Estonia.
I was traveling this country one week in September with another member of
this list: Peeter Vissak who live in Estonia.
OK, Peeter to my ears has a "typical" Estonian name (very close to Finnish); you don´t. However, in these days lots of people living in any country have names from other origins (I´m an instance of that, at least my family name), so it´s not too easy to tell. Certainly no offence whatsoever meant...
When capturing this image I checked several positions before pushing the
shutter.
I understand your wish to see the brick columns against the sky but I found
interesting their long shadows.
Lowering the camera can cause loss of the shadows.
Yes, I´m aware that local "geometry" must influence the decisions, and cannot really be inferred by a distant reviewer. Also, the artist must make his/her own decisions, and you preferred shadows to silhouettes this time. I´m certainly not saying that´s wrong (the shadows *are* important), only I was looking for something "hard and angular" above the horizon to echo the building.
