I think Ami's site is served very well by the drama created with Flash and the chosen imagery. The black background, the tribal drumming and talking, etc. It all really creates a mood and opening for the images to come. I have in mind the same sort of thing, only with pleasant green colours, the quacking of some ducks, perhaps the grakk of a Heron, and chirping of crickets while a lovely bird image fades to open introducing my site. Then simple and small galleries of my best images. I think it would work for me. I'm testing it out right now... I've always had a large rambling type of site, with plenty of variety, room for my other hobbies, and info. But I'm leaning towards Ami's style of straight to the eyeball, here's my best, impressive image gallery type of website using Flash.
