You know, now that you mention it this is quite true! I guess I was lazy and
did not want to tackle the natural environment - in a lab it was all under
pretty tight control. Getting wasp's nest in the fishtank was still a bit of
a problem.

The trick I have seen regarding photographing insects is to chill them down. Maybe a C02 fire extinguisher?
It is better to out-run them rather than flail madly and run in circles. There was a neat article in Discover magazine ("Stung" May, 03) with good info on bees and wasps. Available on line: http://www.discover.com/
