Thanks for the response. I of course prefer the family to CIA atmosphere (though with my family I'm questioning that last statement). Am simply hoping for some helpful discussion - nothing against chit chat if its balanced out.
OK so lets give it a try. I am finishing a syllabus on Digital Photography (2nd yr Univ level course). Am trying to come up with original, fun and challenging projects/assignments. Its 15 weeks, 3 hrs per, with 5 assig. and 2 major projects. Focuses on image editing, portfolio development and the relationships between conventional and digital imaging. Any ideas out there? I would be very grateful for something creative, practical and engaging.

Understandable if you want to allow conversation to flow and ebb as it will. Try visiting the "Editorial Photographer's" list. They are brutal about what posts can be listed. They literally read every submission before it's posted to the list and will ruthlessly reject any posting that is not specificly on target. This list, Photo Techniques, is quiet until someone asks a relative question, there are answers, suggestions and discussion until that topic has run it's course, then everyone gets back to their work. It's also friendly with no smart ass remarks or flaming or black sheep.You are right though, there has been an unbelievable amount of bandwidth wasted on rhetoric and mindless chatter on this list at times, but that seems common at any social gathering.
