Someone else said it and I agree. I don't like pubic hair or any hair in my coffee. I take it straight and black (and this comment is about coffee). I also object both to moral censorship in a public forum and to ridicule of those who find offense in that forum. Neither is honest or helpful. Much good and innocence has been destroyed by censorship and ridicule never encourages growth in another's understanding or appreciation for the beauty of creation. In this forum the use of thumbnails may be warning enough of the content of the photograph presented. If you don't like the subject matter it is easy enough not to open it and go on to the next. OTOH, I have often been surprised by how the thumbnails do not fully represent the larger version. Sometimes what I thought was a strong composition turns out not to be. Other times I have been equally surprised by how good it actually was. In Rubin's nude I too object to the pubic hair. I find the stubble from her shave incongruous with the intent of the pose. As Marilyn put it, the softness of the form is contradicted. As Rubin stated, he needs more practice with the subject matter. As for myself, I'm afraid I would be too distracted by the subject to make a good photograph of the nude form. But I do appreciate the fine work of others. Peace!
