Hi Christine.

I'd like to point out that irfanview can do a batch conversion/rename a lot
faster than PS... maybe you haven't found this function in Irfanview

(file > batch conversion/rename)

as a test I put 1500   50K images in a folder and had irfanview rename
them - it took a little over a minute.. photoshop in comparison only managed
to rename about 30 images in that same time (!!)

batch resizing, colour correction, contrast, sharpness rotation etc etc etc
are all available in Irfanview (under 'advanced options) and are done MUCH
faster than photoshop can manage
