You are comparing apples and oranges. The latest and current version of Photoshop is 7.1 not 5.5. IMO, anyone who is doing work with photo editing is better using Photoshop not Elements although the learning curve is (slightly) steeper. Most people use Photoshop not Elements; it's easier to ask for advice, use tips on the net and there are more (and better) books around. Version 7 includes a file browser.
