Since there seems to be a shortage of reviewers this week, rather than complain about it I decided to get off my backside and hunt and peck. Pini Vollach Excellent study of tonality and composition. My only suggestion would be to possibly boost the contrast a bit to give you a blacker black in the shadows. I really like this photo. Robin G.--ramos alone. when it comes to landscape photography, lighting is everything. This is a perfect example of that. Practiclly any other atmospheric conditions would have made this shot a boring cliche. But the hazy mist yells solitude. Museki Abe--Japanese Rose Although I am a gardener usually when I see flower photographs my first reaction is "Oh no not another flower picture" But when color form and technical skill come together as in this one I say show me more. Jim Davis--Intensity Wouldn't it be wonderfull if we mere humans could focus as intently on what we were doing as that bird. Your shot effectivly tell the story. Jeff Spirer. Reminds me of my New York hunting ground. The young lady in the lower right corner makes this shot. I have the feeling that there are many good photos to be taken in this area. Well done. Greg Stempel--Power This is similar to Robin Ramoses photo. The lighting makes the picture. It brings my mind to many scenes i have seen at dusk driving the interstates. A powerfull photo. Don Roberts--Gated comunity The title is perfect. You have a good eye for the seeing the humor around us. Too bad it wasn't pearly gates. Dan Mitchell--Self portrait Dan this is a very funny photo. Not you the surroundings. But I get dizzy if i look at it too long. Greg Fraser--Conquest The color and composition is great but I can't connect the title to the photo. I think if you left it off and let the viewer use his imagination it would be a stronger shot. It has a medievil look about it. Christopher Stevens Chris I think I know what you were trying to accomplish. The composition of reds, but whether it was the angle you took it at or the time of day something is missing. I think you have to ask yourself what motivated you to take it. Jay Bjerkin--fitness Good framing, but as with Christophers shot I have to ask, your reasoning in taking the photo. Somrtime if you ask these questions it gives you a direction and helps to develop a style.I like the photo.I just don't know in what context to place it. Brian Roberts Last but not least. This is my pick for the week. Although obviously it's not straight photography. It demonstrates the artistic talent of the photographer. It reminds me of the buried Chinese army coming to the surface. As representational painting declined with the advent of photography. So I believe representational photography will decline with the advent of digital. At least in art photography.
