It's the most powerful means we have to let the manufacturers know what we want them to make......." Well it's been difficult to remain loyal to the "Great Yellow Father" thru the recent changes in manufacturing locations, changing CAT #'s, new packaging sizes and of course discontinued favorites..........B&W 4x5 Films in particular..... The first 4x5's I received from the new NAFTA? operation were cut crooked...........the 4" dimension (critical to fitting the film holder) tapered from a 4" to 4 1/16"......try squeezing that in the holder.......just a little warping effect ........And of course ALL the film at the warehouse is from the same emulsion #....... Then add the changing Cat #'s.........Sorry sir, the computer says "that film has been discontinued"........NO SIR, Kodak CHANGED the Cat # because of the new production plant/product change...... And then TXP disappeared all together before it made a recent comeback............. Kodak also changed the size of the (smallest)package from 25 to 50 sheets........Now the camera store wants to "special order" sheet film instead of keeping it on the shelf.....Too much $ on the shelf............. RIP........Ektapan.......Ektalure and most other fiber papers.......... But I still remain loyal.......Most all the boxes in my darkroom are Yellow........... Enough ranting.......Best Regards.......
