Calibrating iMac LCD screens

LCD monitors are getting better & the best one for colour and contrast is Apple's 23" Cinema HD Display
according to the latest tests. (problem here is - lots of $$$$. $US 3,494) CRTs are still used for critical colour
management in a prepress workflow.

Your iMac LCD screen can be fairly well calibrated by going to the Display Calibrator and following the steps there.
In OS X it can be found in the utilities folder within the applications folder. Applications>Utilities>Display Calibrator.
If you're using OS 9 you'll find the Monitor Calibration Assistant here: Control Panels>Monitors. Then click Color.
