Ok, some rather pathetic comments so far on this week's gallery, so here's my view on this photos. Each photo was actually viewed as I wrote these, and only my real impressions were typed out here. No bullshit, just my true feelings. While it appears many here seem to feel they have to find something good about each photo, I feel no such need. So I'll keep myself totally neutral and objective about this review. Anything good will be commented on, anything bad will be likewise commented on. Antonio J. Cid Vega Bus 58 - a simple grabshot on a bus, unsharp and tilted. Maybe one of those happy accidents? Anyway, it ain't going to win any contests, it's just dull. Greg Fraser '39 Chevy - I feel this is the best shot this week, and that's not saying much. Overall, this image just doesn't do much for me. Some lines, some curves, some textures. Christiane Roh Lausanne, Place de l'Europe, October 2002 - a line of cars out of a hotel window - wow, there's a guy there looks like he's standing on his tippy toes leaning forward that looks like he's about to fall on his face. Is that some kind of hidden thing or what? Scott Thurmond Waterlilies - I'm not sure what the author was trying to do here, but it didn't work for me. This image actually stirred up a kind of loathing in me. Seriously, this image should be deleted. Marilyn Dalrymple Playing Dress-Up - I don't like the way the hat is cut off on the top right, and I don't like the positioning of the head. I don't think the expression on the girl really says anything. She looks bored and posed. Milko Chua - If, and this is a big IF, the photog had moved in closer to the puddle, and got the top of the church in the reflection, something might have worked in this photo. As it is, it's just another nothing photo with a tilted horizon. In fact, it's ugly. Andrey Ivanitsky Piccadilly Circus - this looks like a typical tourist shot from a bad angle. The only thing nice is the piper in the left front. Everything leans right and I hate photos of a bunch of cars on the road. Deen Hameed ibex - I don't like the cropping or positioning of these animals. And it's horribly magenta. Is everyone colourblind but me? John Lee Hop Hop - aw gee, a mooching rabbit. Cute. Not an ideal subject for black and white though. I like my animals in living colour. Christopher Strevens Don't go to Sea, Daddy! - I've seen this image too many times now, it still looks the same - dull. It should be cropped horizontally to bring up the subjects without all the boring sand and white sky in the photo. Well, that's it folks. That's the way I see this week's gallery. Since this week is so particularly boring and uninspired, I just had to comment. Sorry for the lack of butter. You can do better. No need of personal emails of hate. Thank you.
