I'm on about numerous different lists. Several to do with astroimging. On one particular list, we were hit by a virus that came in as an attachment. The warnings went out over that list to watch out for a particular infection, and how to fix the virus. This helped me a lot and fixing my infected laptop. One warning, came from one extremely respected poster on that list and stated that he himself thought one of his posts had been affected. This is how I got hit, I trusted his attachment. Now, here on this great list, someone posts a virus warning and explains how to remove it. I am just pooter illiterate enough to have believed that poster and only the fact someone else posted that was indeed a hoax saved me from screwing up my system. If we are not to post warnings about viruses, then how are we to know? It seems to me, if I am unaware of a virus, and equally unaware on where to go and get the fix, then I would almost immediately forward that virus. I will no longer open an attachment without being dead certain it is safe, and if there are no warnings, this appears to be my only defense. Is there something I'm missing about "DO NOT POST 'virus warnings'"? Take care, Gregory david Stempel FIREFRAMEi m a g i n g
