Herbert List, a revelation

i'm a frequent visitor of the Macedonian Museum Of Contemrorary Art in
salonica city, but this time it was different for me.
the museum houses photo excibitions from time to time, and currently houses
a Herbert List one.

it was a revelation for me. it was the lesson on dominant lines and axis
that i was never given.
the man is a fool for strong multiple verticals like in:
http://www.mbam.qc.ca/en_cours/hlist1.html
or crossovering diagonals like in :
http://www.mbam.qc.ca/en_cours/hlist4.html
there was a photo of a young man that has one leg spread horizontally, the
other bent in a reversed V shape with one hand paralel to the first leg
resting on the bent knee.
a multiple Z configuration. what a rage of lines!

anyway if one could access a good site with lots of List's photos will see
many taken in the pre-WWII Greece, with both portrait and antiquites ones.

a simple google search brought these web sites:

http://www.patrimoine-photo.org/dhtml-us/actu/expositions/list/presentation.html
http://www.ccchronicle.com/back/2001-11-12/arts1.html
http://www.binbooks.com/books/photo/i/l/5B316AF0D7
in french
http://www.mbam.qc.ca/presse/list.html
http://www.cyberpresse.ca/reseau/arts/0201/art_102010059902.html
in german
http://www.ifa.de/a/a1/foto/da1slsbi.htm
http://www.dhm.de/ausstellungen/endeanf/list_bio.html
in italian
http://www.photology.com/impero/100al2000/19001950/testi/t87.html

and the highly suggested:
http://www.mbam.qc.ca/en_cours/herbertlist.html

a Macedonian Museum Of Contemrorary Art web presentation (badly outdated)
can be found at:
http://artprisma.gr/mouseia_xoroi1.asp?lang=en&id=5
and do not be intimidated by the"The page is under construction " sign, the
directories work fine to browse
(have a look at the Takis collection with the functioning iron&magnet
sculptures)

i rest for ever influenced, kostas
