The Minolta Dimage 7 also goes to 28 mm... and to 180 (equivalent) at the other end. It is also 5 Megapixels. I have one and I have found its image quality to be good with well illuminated subjects. There is no chromatic aberration like there is with other non SRL digitals. It is a very light camera. These are the problems of the Dimage 7 IMO: 1. There is a lot of flare with back lit subjects. 2. Auto Focus is sometimes slow, sometimes inaccurate and sometimes both. I have read (in the forums) that this is less of a problem with the new models. 3. Since the viewfinder is a LCD (no optical viewfinder), there is a delay between what is really happening and what you see in the viewfinder. This is a problem with moving objects. 4. Underexposed images (and sometimes underexposed parts of an otherwise well exposed image) are noisy. Other than this I've been very happy with the camera and I've even managed to do some pro work with it. I've also saved a lot of money since I've replaced Polaroid with it. I have also learned a lot with it since you see your pictures immediately. Great for bounced flash for this reason. Anyway, you can go to: http://www.dpreview.com/ and see for yourself the reviews and actual pictures taken with these and many other cameras.
