Hi,

thank you very much for you reply.

I think I've found the error. It seems, as if the pam_pwdb.so crashes
the process. I still don't know how and why.
It's PAM version 0.72-169

I changed the /etc/pam.d/httpd as follows

	auth required pam_warn.so
	auth required pam_permit.so
	auth required pam_warn.so

Everything works fine. I get two logs in my /var/log/messages

If it looks like
	
	auth required pam_warn.so
	auth required pam_pwdb.so
	auth required pam_warn.so

it crashes and shows only one entry in the /var/log/messages.

My /etc/pwdb.conf seems fine:

	user:
		unix+shadow
		nis+unix+shadow

	group:
		unix+shadow
		nis+unix+shadow


Anybody got any ideas?
