I have just downloaded and installed this version on linux for evaluation.....
linux kernel version 1.3.95 and 2.0.0.
I have been testing using several public domain newsreaders but have a problem
with Netscape v2.01 and v2.02 both 16 and 32 bit version under Windows and NT
respectively.
Netscape connects to the server with the default 3 newsgroups
news.announce.newusers etc., and displays the number of unread articles.
In these newsgroups articles are read normally ....
When I select "Show ALL Newsgroups" Netscape then appears to display a list of all
the newsgroup names ..... but when it starts updating the number of unread articles
Netscape causes a "general protection error" in windows and in NT.
Is this a nntpcache message response problem or not ... or something else ....
there doesn't appear to be anything bad in the log files (messages, syslog or debug),
other then normal messages from nntpcache.

This is important since many people use Netscape .... hence we cannot use
nntpcache in a real life system at present.
Apart from this the software seems quite stable and operational ..... great !
