group in active.times but not in active??

Hi:
I think I've found the cause to Netscape being confused and
even committing suicide:) Apparently to a "GROUP comp.widnows.x.pex"
request from Netscape nntpcache responded with 2 NOSUCHGROUP messages.
One was generated by the remote server. This happened because nntpcache
thinks that the group exists on the remote server while in reality
it does not exist. Further investigation shows that the group is
present in active.times but not in active. So the question is that
is nntpcache making inferences from active.times and if so is it
right or is the newsserver (INN) that I'm using on the wrong?
