Hello, One of our machines doesn't want to run nntpcache properly; it keeps saying 'romance refused with ... due to rebuild in-progress (14 groups complete)' when connecting to it. This machine is binary equivalent to our 20 other machines. So my guess is that it must be a problem with the configuration files, but they are short and i cannot find an error in them. (I'll append them below) This is nntpcache V2_3_3 on BSDI 4.0.1+patches. nntpcache.servers: localhost:120 localhost 2m 20m 20m 10m 60d 60d %BeginGroups * localhost:120 and on localhost:120 inn serves 7 groups (this is a testserver ;-). nntpcache says it has 14 groups complete... When i remove the only file in the nntpcache spool dir (nntpcache.stats) and start nntpcache again it complains when making a connection to it 'romance refused with ... due to rebuild in-progress (7 groups complete)' When i stop/start again is barfs '14 groups' again. My spool is almost empty and has 2GB available. syslog has: nntpcached[901]: waiting for NTTP connections on <mymachine>:119 nntpcached[901]: waiting for HTTP connections on DEFAULT:9119 nntpcache-update[905]: update task awakening nntpcache-update[905]: checking server localhost:120 for 'overview.fmt' nntpcache-update[905]: parsing 'overview.fmt' from localhost:120 nntpcache-update[905]: checking server localhost:120 for 'active' nntpcache-update[905]: parsing 'active' from localhost:120 nntpcache-update[905]: checking server localhost:120 for 'active.times' nntpcache-update[905]: parsing 'active.times' from localhost:120 nntpcache-update[905]: checking server localhost:120 for 'newsgroups' nntpcache-update[905]: parsing 'newsgroups' from localhost:120 nntpcache-update[905]: update task retiring nntpcache-update[905]: clean shutdown Any ideas ? This one really puzzles me. regards, Hans Lambermont -- ir.
