Hi, I finally managed to run NNTPCache 2.3.2.1 on a Solaris 2.5.1 system and I'm going to offer the service to the users today. But there is still some strange behaviour which, I'm afraid, the users might not accept: When connecting to the news account from Outlook Express on my PC (Win NT 4.0) I have to wait for something to happen for 20 seconds. Continuously watching my /var/adm/messages file i see: Sep 2 08:18:27 news nntpcached[29342]: nntpcache.c:400: starting client task Sep 2 08:18:27 news nntpcache-client[10826]: client task awakening Sep 2 08:18:47 news nntpcache-client[10826]: <myPC> connect from <myPC> (myIPaddress) It is always the same: 20 seconds from "client task awakening" to "connect". What are they used for? Yawning? :-) Seeing the /var/adm/messages file I at least know that something is happening. "Normal" users don't see anything and might cancel the transmission. Connecting to a INN server I get immediate response. Did I simply miss some entries in a config file? Any help appreciated. Best regards Albrecht
