Your new kernel dont even support usb3 > Please bottom post on this list (and all lkml lists). My kernel absolutely supports USB-3 (I'm using a 3.7 kernel right now on the same laptop to transfer files at usb-3 speeds between the 2 usb-3 ports. The hardware in the laptop works fine.) With the 3.7 kernel, I don't get the timeouts above, but I still don't see the connected drive. (I'm using a different enclosure to do the current transfers). So I agree that my kernels are lacking something to talk to the adapter and see the drive connected to it, but guess what. This list is for discussing the kernel software, whether that be enhancements, bug fixes, or whatever. So, my question stands, how do I troubleshoot the missing functionality in the kernel and get this controller supported? I seriously doubt it needs a full new driver, but I don't know the USB subsystem at all.
