Since VxWorks is a real-time operating system you might want to compare it with rt_preempt patched linux kernel, so the
appropriate link would be:

https://rt.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Main_Page

you can also find a number of tests and benchmarks there.

If you need more information on real-time linux variants, the rt_preempt patch, benchmarks, etc. I recommend
a look at
http://www.osadl.org/RTLF-RTLWS.rtlf-rtlws.0.html
the homepage of the real-time linux workshop.

Hi All,

I'm trying to analyze the performance of Linux Kernel.
I need to compare this with VxWorks performance.
What are the performance benchmarks do we have to take?.
How can we test the efficiency of the features provided by the OSes like Scheduling, Mem. Management, VM, network buffers (this i'm thinking to run with some traffic generator tool). I guess this is broad problem area, but i would like to start off somewhere on this.

I need your suggestions on how can i go about with this. Any docs/hints will be helpful for me. Thanks.
