Alternatively, you can use gmane:

http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel.kernelnewbies

I prefer gmane because of its better display of message threads.  Also
MARC search just doesn't seem to be able to do the right thing with
words containing underscores (or did I miss something?).
