I did that - up to compilation its ok !! I am going wrong in the grub

       --->initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.9-42.0.10.EL_lustre.1.4.10smp.img

where do I get this file ???
& i copied the bzImage after compilation with this option

 make bzImage && make modules && make modules_install

A simple "make install" will do this whole job, AND will also generate
the initrd and even make entries in the grub.
