Hi,
I think it'll be best if you "build-in" the file-system type you are
using in the kernel.
Though, I doubt that the error is because of that.
Still first build the kernel with Ext3 as a built-in the kernel.
If you are still getting the error then it might be a grub-configuration
issue.
