Error while booting newly installed kernel

Hi all,


  i tried installing new kernel on my machine. but when i tried to boot in that kernel ,  i get the following error ,

     kernel panic - not syncing  VFS  - Unable to mount root fs in unknown block (0,0)


following is  extract from my   /boot/grub/menu.lst

title           Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.13
root            (hd0,2)
kernel          /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.13 root=/dev/hda3 ro quiet splash
savedefault
boot

title           Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.10-5-386
root            (hd0,2)
kernel          /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.10-5-386 root=/dev/hda3 ro quiet spla
sh
initrd          /boot/initrd.img-2.6.10-5-386
savedefault
boot


is there a problem with the entry or anything else .    Can anyone please help
