Ok, I don't know a whole lot about initrd.

Is there a way I can ask a currently running kernel if 64GB support is

via a gross hack perhaps... sizeof(dma_addr_t)==8 on x86 for 64G ..

I was hoping for something that doesn't require me to compile code. Isn't there anything in /proc?
