any drivers for ps/2 barcode scanner?

Hi guys,

Do I need any driver for a generic PS/2 barcode scanner ?
Even though I can scan the barcodes, I get wierd "+" "-" signs from the
input when the scanner is in idle mode.

Initially, I thought that it was my Qt program that is causing the
problem, but I still get the "+" "-" signs even though when my program
is not running.

I have recompiled the kernel to use a serial driver which I need for an
integration to an electronic payment device. I can notice the "+" and
"-" signs on both the default and recompiled kernel. I am using RH9.0

Does anyone knows if I need to patch the kernel with some sort of PS/2
scanner driver??

Many thanks for any advices!

cheers,
jon.
