1) This is kernel-newbies@, not linux-kernel@.
2) The OP mentioned templates. I don't think someone thinks this might
   be a useful feature in a software which is not swappable. And God
   knows which other "cool C++ features" are also used there.
3) Yes, people have reportedly done it, but you have to be *very*
   careful on which features you really use. Especially you do not want
   STL or the libstdc++ lib to be needed.
4) Yes, I have no problem if you do it. Alas, I won't expect in 100
   years to get such a beast in an even semi-official kernel ....
