Hi, I'am a linux newbie and was trying to upgrade my redhat linux kernel from 2.4.18-24.8.0 to 2.4.22.. well my problem is that i'am happy with my old kernel settings and want to copy them to my new kernel . Actually my project here is to make my ppp modules loadable to run my sm56 modem. the old kernel has modules loadable enabled only setting i wan to change is to make ppp modules as loadable. please tell me how to do that, i mean i have done that like copyin the config-2.4.18-24.8.0 from /boot to linux-2.4.22 directory and then run xconfig open file and change settings but this does'nt help nor does using oldconfig to make a config for my new kernel and then xconfig it to make ppp loadable... i'am wrong please tell me or else how to do that... any help would be appericiated. please explain in detail... aman ________________________________________________________________________ Want to chat instantly with your online friends?
