Minix question

I was trying to understand how the minix works. I found that when creating a new inode it sets inode->i_fop = &minix_file_operations; But minix_file_operations struct does not have a pointer for the open file_operation(ext2 sets this to generic_file_open). So what happens when we open a file? What functions does the actual open?

Thank you in adavace.
