Re: cannot disable ide2 and ide3

Ok, I didn't explain that very well.  It's the seccond of two IDE
controller cards, each with 2 channels.  ide0 and ide1 are in use for
normal system purposes.  It's ide2 and ide3 I want to zap.  I have tried
hdx=none, and it disables the hard disk, but idex=noprobe does nothing
with respect to ioports.

Could it be the pci subsystem that's setting all this up?  Is there
some option sort of like pcix=noprobe?
