Thanks Earl!  That worked.

I saved the original date.mrc.html file out as 'text' from Safari and 
it looks 'the same' as the date.mrc file from the examples directory, 
but clearly it ain't!

Maybe the old Mac vs. UNIX vs. Win LF/CR thing.

Now on to 'tweaking' it a bit myself and see what I can 
accomplish/screw up!
