Could it be that I don't an Environment-Variable or something like that?

I created the .vimrc file by (at my ~) doing [vim .vimrc] then [syntax on, set back...etc] then [ESC] then [:wq]

No, seems OK to me. Can't understand why it's not working. Haven't you saved the file with Windows-type formatting instead of Unix?
