Bluetooth headsets in normal mono HSP mode work well on 2008 - you can
pair one, it will be detected as HSP and will be automatically
connected/reconnected.

But as far as I am aware of there is no A2DP (stereo) support in OS2008
yet - though the Linux-BlueZ support is quite well by now.
A2DP can have several sub-profiles defining the codec used to transport
the audio stream, one of them is the "sbc" and there is also a MP3
profile, i.e. you can directly stream MP3 data over A2DP to a headset
that supports it. Most stereo headset though only support sbc not MP3 -
and BlueZ A2DP currently only supports sbc.

Long story short: Linux-BlueZ can handle A2DP sbc but this is not yet
properly integrated into OS2008.
