I just got a brand new N810 and tried to install skype. (I am an experienced
Debian user but new to maemo). It is missing libhildonfm2 (>=1:1.9.49) and
libhildonmime0 (>= 1.10.1). I noticed that my N810 is running 1.2007.42-19 but
http://europe.nokia.com/A4680127 reports that the latest version is
2.2007.50-2. Is that the cause of the problem or is it something else?

I had the same problem installing skype as you, only on my n800

However upgrading to the newest OS 2008 fixed it. It was pretty
painless, if you do a backup first the installation will restore your
repository settings and reinstall much of the software. Here is a report
of my results:

hope that helps
