As I have been told the problem is using the "magic.sys" update target. One should not do it. The (one ?) broken lib causing the trouble is: libgtk-x11-2.0 in the http://repository.maemo.org/pool/bora/free/binary/ repository. I am quite sure it is not the only problem lib. I have a dual-boot system and tried to fix the broken lib from the healthy sytem. I failed to fix it. The graphic UI does not start any more if the broken version of the lib gets installed. The symptoms: suddendly hildon applications do not start, booting failes after the blue progress bar reaches appr. 90%. I have disabled red-pill mode and will not use (the very convenient if it would work) "magic.sys" target. HuangShan
