if that's the case i'd switch to lvm2


ok, i will give it a try.

device-mapper README: Kernel patches for 2.4.20, 2.4.21 and 2.4.22 are also included here in the patches subdirectory.

my kernel is 2.4.19-64GB-SMP and HP SecurePath only supports that kernel.

p.s. HP told me LINUX-LVM is not stable enough to use it. what do you thing about that?
