it's not included in the kernel.
could you run lvmdiskscan in debug mode?
kappco1:~ # lvmdiskscan -d
lvmdiskscan -- reading all disks / partitions (this may take a while...)

i believe securepath devices do not appear in /proc/partitions?
if that's the case i'd switch to lvm2
